In Soviet Russia, the car buys you.
I think in original joke it was 25 years because it is how long that wait is. Plumber one is a joke though as typical wait for plumber was just 1 year.
I’ve seen a video of then President Reagan telling this joke and he was president from 1981 to 1989.
