  1. I’ve wanted a tattoo for about 12 years now, but this is my first one. This one will get color in March, and I may eventually have a full sleeve done of similar iconography/stained glass style art.

This particular piece is inspired by Christian iconography of the Paschal Lamb. The Lamb represents Christ, and the blood going into the chalice represents the Eucharist. The Lamb imagery is taken from Revelation 5, where John expects to find a lion to open scrolls of judgement, but instead finds a slaughtered lamb. The imagery suggests that the power of Christ is not in domineering or oppressive strength, but in self-giving sacrificial love. The Greek “ΑΡΝΙΟΝ ΘΕΟΥ” means “little lamb of God”.
